Angela and Evelyne, like many others, continue their journey to the maternity ward despite the devastation caused by Cyclone Gamane. Armed with individual delivery and dignity kits from UNFPA, they are facing the storm with strength and resilience.
"I haven't prepared the kits for welcoming my baby yet. I'm happy to have received these," said Angela. Evelyne, on the other hand, shared, "I had some kits for my baby, but they were swept away by the floodwaters as our village was inundated by the cyclone."
The delivery and dignity kits not only provide essential support for childbirth but also restore dignity in the midst of adversity, empowering women to persevere through challenging circumstances. With CERF funds, 1,500 kits have been distributed to vulnerable women, including Angela and Evelyne.
