Antananarivo, 21 February 2024:
After days of relentless heavy rains, the floods swept through Antananarivo, leaving many families displaced and struggling to recover. Among them was Sandrine, a mother of two, who lost most of her belongings when the rising waters inundated her home. Forced to take refuge in a temporary shelter, she faced immense hardship, lacking even the most basic necessities.
These kits mean so much to me because these help me to maintain my hygiene and my dignity.
Amidst this crisis, the distribution of dignity kits provided her with essential hygiene items, offering a sense of dignity during such a difficult time. "These kits mean so much to me because these help me to maintain my hygiene and my dignity. You know what it is to be a woman" says Sandrine.
For many women like Sandrine, these dignity kits are more than just supplies, these are a symbol of care, resilience, and hope in the face of adversity.
Through challenging times, safeguarding the integrity of our community and mostly of women holds paramount importance for us. Acknowledging the crucial role of the CERF fund, we are able to uphold these values effectively.
